Open science represents a new approach to the scientific process based on cooperative work and innovative means of disseminating knowledge by using technologies and collaborative tools. It aims to remove the barriers for sharing any kind of intellectual output at any stage of the research process. Open science is an umbrella term which encapsulates various movements including open access to scientific publications and open research data.
To this effect, as part of the project, the is in the process of developing a Research Data Management Policy Framework. Academics and Researchers, are therefore invited to participate in a that is intended to collect information pertaining to the implementation of research data management principles and practices within our institutions.
This also serves to provide a better understanding of the expectations and experiences within our academic communities on the current practices employed in the area of managing and publishing of research data.
