The Library Reverse Advent Calendar
The reverse advent calendar is a means of getting together in order to make a difference! Instead of eating a piece of chocolate to mark the days that lead up to Christmas, let’s put aside an item each day to donate to those in need.
to guide you on what items to bring on that specific day (not necessarily following the date order), bring the item to the Library and leave it in a designated area in front of the Circulation Desk.
Please do not donate expired food or fresh/ frozen items. All food items received will be donated to the .
Bake Sale donation
On Thursday, 24 November, the Library was proud to hand over the proceeds from last week's bake sale, organised in support of the , a non-for-profit organisation working in the area of mental health.
We raised a sum of €880 which was collected by Ms Flora Tanti, a mental health nurse and a representative of the Foundation, in the Library Boardroom.
The transfer of the proceeds was endorsed by the Director Library ¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÃâ·Ñ, , and took place in the presence of the members of the Library management, Outreach department, and the Events Committee.

Past events:
On Wednesday 19th October, the - hosted Professor Dimitrios Triantaphyllou (Kadir Has University, Istanbul) for a lecture entitled An Assessment of the Current State of Relations between the European Union and Turkey. The lecture assessed the current state of play between Turkey and the European Union, the challenges ahead, and posit certain ideas/thoughts on the way forward.
On Friday 28th October, the - hosted Dr Annabelle de Heus (NHL Stenden) for a public talk entitled Conspiracy Theories in Times of Crises. The lecture focused on conspiracy theories by taking examples from the EU context and beyond and explored their dynamics and their consequences.

As the world struggled with the impacts of Covid-19 on our global community, Christian Attard published his remarkable study of Malta’s response to the waves of infection that the country experienced over several generations, from the Great Siege to the end of Napoleonic wars. This book examines and investigates the sophisticated, visual culture that evolved around the subject of death in the Catholic world, focusing specifically on Malta during the period of the plague of 1675 to 1814. It explores and reflects upon the ways art had offered hope and possible redemption in the face of death and disease. This publication is ideal for all generations who are passionate about communication through art.
