Did you know there's a fully equipped room on campus dedicated to help academics produce high-quality lecture recordings?
The Dedicated Personal Capture Room (Room 023, IT ¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÃâ·Ñ Building) is a purpose-built space where academics can use Panopto Personal Capture to record lecture videos, narrate voice-over presentations, and capture screencasts, all with high-quality results.
The room gives academics everything they need in one place: an auto-tracking that follows one's movement, a whiteboard with its own dedicated camera so every equation and diagram is captured clearly, a lapel mic for crisp audio, and an HDMI connection for the laptop to record slides alongside the delivery.
It's ideal for recording revision sessions, supplementary explainers, flipped-classroom content, or any material where academics want better production quality than a standard lecture room or an office can offer, particularly if their teaching involves working through problems on a whiteboard. The videos are then automatically shared with the students through the VLE.
To use the room:
- Book a slot in advance via our booking form
- The Beadle will open the room for you
- Instructions are provided in the room, and support is available by phone from the desk until 18:00.
Give it a try!
