The Department of Marketing at the University of Malta, in collaboration with the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA), is pleased to announce the upcoming edition of its annual seminar exploring how emerging technologies are reshaping the way organisations interact with and serve their customers. The event will bring together marketing professionals, academics and students for a morning of presentations and conversations exploring the future of marketing.

The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Carlos Flavián from the University of Zaragoza, and will focus on how advances in artificial intelligence and automation are transforming service delivery and redefining the customer experience.

A central part of the seminar will be an industry panel discussion bringing together senior professionals from leading Maltese organisations. The panel will explore how businesses across different sectors are adapting to rapid technological change, sharing insights on the opportunities and challenges that AI and automation present for marketing and customer experience. Panel participants will include Reuben Debono, CEO at Maypole Group; Maria Bugeja, Director at St James Hospital and Niumee; and Sabrina Mulligan, AI Brand Specialist at Zzzing. The discussion will be moderated by Gavril Flores, Chief Strategy Officer at the Malta Digital Innovation Authority.

The programme will also feature presentations by researchers and selected alumni from the Department of Marketing, showcasing recent studies on topics such as AI-enabled customer interactions and emerging trends in marketing practice.

The event aims to create a space where academic research and industry practice intersect, offering participants the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss emerging trends, and reflect on how marketing is evolving in an increasingly technology-driven environment.
