Abstract

Gerald Dawe is one of the most significant Irish poets of the past few decades. In this interview he describes his formation as a poet and banks on his experience as a literary critic and educator to discuss the status of poetry within contemporary education. He shares his views on how young people can be encouraged to engage with the reading and writing of poetry.
