Abstract: Determination of stresses in structural components under different loading and boundary conditions is presented. Analytical, closed form mathematical solutions, are compared to computational FEA solutions and experimental techniques involving strain gauges and PhotoStress in standard benchmark problems. The combined analyses provide an effective educational tool in the area of stress analysis
