The Gender Pay Gap Conference will be held on Friday 20 April from 08:30 to 13:00 at San Anton Palace.
Recent statistics show that the gender pay gap (difference in average gross hourly wage between men and women) in Malta currently stands at 11% across all sectors of the economy (Eurostat, 2018), while the overall earnings gap (taking into account fewer hours in paid jobs, lower employment, and lower earnings) stands at 45.6% (Eurostat, 2014).
This conference will explore how the gender pay gap is manifested in Malta, whilst sharing recent examples of international good practice, and putting forward concrete measures for all stakeholders to commit towards permanently closing the gender pay gap.
