In the face of climate change, noise, traffic, pollution, waste and the ever declining natural green space, the Malta Association of Psychiatry (MAP) would like to invite academics and students at the University of Malta to a conference on the evidence of the relationship between environmental factors and mental health. The conference will be held on the 28 and 29 November 2023 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta.
Bringing together a community of local and foreign academics, professionals, activists and experts by experience, the MAP hopes to share information and create awareness, but also to call policy makers to action to invest in prevention strategies and to work towards achieving optimal mental health. Topics discussed will include “The Environment and Wellbeing in Malta”, “the Built Environment and Mental Health”, “the Obesogenic Environment”, “Evolution and Psychiatry”, “Environmental Therapeutics”, “Thriving at Home”, “Right to Silence”, “The Family Environment” and “Forensic Psychiatry”.
The Maltese Association of Psychiatry (MAP) is a non-profit Voluntary Organisation, committed to set standards and promote the highest quality of psychiatric care for individuals suffering from mental health problems and support their carers.
