Do you or someone you know have a flair for languages? Is Maltese spelling a challenge for you? If you or someone you know fall under either category, FestaLingwi is an upcoming opportunity for you to learn and enjoy yourself.
On the occasion of the European Day of Languages, our Valletta Campus is hosting FestaLingwi – a celebration of Europe’s rich linguistic and cultural heritage.
Taking place on 22 September from noon to 21:30, and co-organised by UM and the European Commission in Malta, FestaLingwi will include:
- Taster lessons of various languages such as Spanish, French, German, Ukrainian, Basque and Maltese sign language
- Quizzes and games in different languages
- Theatre shows by More of Less Theatre
- A concert, Ħoss il-Malti, featuring local band Brodu and singer-songwriter Sean Borg
- Animated reading sessions for children
- Music performances by Mariele Zammit, Justin Galea and Ä użè Camilleri
- °·É¾±Å¼Å¼¾±°ì°ì, a quiz on Maltese expressions
- A workshop centered around the book Mela!
- The annual spelling bee final
