The public lecture which is being organised by the Directorate for Research, Lifelong Learning and Employability at the Ministry for Education and Employment in collaboration with the Malta Review of Educational Research (MRER) and the Department of Arts, Open Communities and Adult Education is free and open to the public. Sir Alan Tuckett OBE is Professor of Education at the University of Wolverhampton, Honorary Fellow of UNESCO’s Institute of Lifelong Learning, and Past President of the International Council for Adult Education. From 1988-2011 he was Chief Executive and Director of the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) in England and Wales, where he started Adult Learners’ Week, which was adopted by UNESCO and spread to more than 50 countries.. He has honorary degrees from 8 universities, and was given a knighthood in the Queen’s New Year Honours 2018 for his services to adult learning.
