The Faculty of Arts of the University of Malta is proud to announce the premiere screening of 'Dream Big Little Cowboy' and 'Delfina', two short films made by the students of the M.A. in Film Studies.
The films will be screened for the first time in Malta on Sunday 2 June, 2019 at the Valletta Campus Theatre, Old University Building, St Paul Street, Valletta at 18:30.
These productions, which constitute the centre-piece of the M.A. in Film Studies, have been made by the students themselves under the supervision of award-winning directors Silvia Luzi and Luca Bellino as well as the acclaimed director of photography Olaf Hirschberg.
'Dream Big Little Cowboy'
James, a seven-year-old boy, is troubled when he learns that his beloved teacher is leaving them halfway through the year. A day before encountering his new teacher, his sister reveals a fact which turns his fear of this new beginning into a nightmare. A nightmare based on innocent misinterpretations and cartoonish misconceptions.
'Delfina'
A day in the life of a teenage girl, suffering from phonophobia and trapped in a dysfunctional family. Driven by the impulsive waves of coincidence, the ripples of unintended consequences lead to an irreversible climax.
Refreshments will be served after the screening. This will give the public the opportunity to meet with the students, their supervisors and their coordinator over a glass of wine.
The general public is cordially invited to the screening.
Entrance is free. Reservation is not mandatory but seating is limited, so if you would like to reserve a seat, please contact Ms Ruth Debono on +356 2340 2337 or via email.
