The Department of Commercial Law at the University of Malta and the Malta Law Academy Foundation within The Chamber of Advocates are organising the annual half-day afternoon conference on Company Law.
This Conference will be held at the Valletta University Campus on Wednesday, 30 October between 13:00 and 17:30 The event is coordinated and chaired by Dr David Fabri, Head of the Department of Commercial Law, who shall also address the conference on mishaps and other developments in this field during 2019.
The Chief Justice, Dr Joseph Azzopardi, will once again be delivering the opening address while Dr Louis De Gabriele will be addressing the event for the first time as president of the Chamber of Advocates. Prof. Peter G Xuereb, Judge of the European Court of Justice, shall be the keynote speaker at the conference. He shall deliver a talk on Company law in The European Court of Justice.
Other speakers are experienced professionals and include Dr George Brancaleone, Mrs Juanita Bencini and Mr Etienne Borg Cardona. They shall be addressing recent corporate and regulatory developments and concerns, including the burdens of compliance, company failures and diversity in the boardroom.
