A talk entitled "Anxiety and Competition in Youth Sport " by Dr Adele Muscat is going to be held on Monday 19 April 2021.
All young athletes experience anxiety and competitive pressure at some point during races, games and tournaments. Having some anxiety is normal, however, when this gets too much the athlete may feel uncomfortable and as a result underperform. During this talk symptoms of anxiety and how anxiety can affect performance will be discussed. A number of practical relaxation strategies will also be employed to help parents learn how to assist their child/children prior to competition (Such exercises are also useful for parents and in our everyday life!).
You are requested to your details online.
In due course, the Zoom link will be forwarded to the registered participants.
