Keith Barton is Professor of Curriculum and Instruction and coordinator of the doctoral program in Teacher Education and Curriculum Studies at Indiana University. His work focuses on preparing students to participate in the public life of democratic societies, through education in history, human rights, and the social sciences. Professor Barton has worked in numerous settings around the world, including Northern Ireland, Singapore, New Zealand, Chile, and South Sudan. His studies use interviews and classroom observations to investigate the social contexts of teaching and learning.
