Gli imperi della mente offers a collective analysis of our age and its discontents. Humanity finds itself in a perpetual race against time, devoid of self-fulfilment. This epidemic of unhappiness is perpetuated by society’s most influential entities, including schools fostering ignorance, churches failing to uphold the sacred, languages promoting social incommunicability, and advertisements and digital technologies breeding stupidity while numbing emotions. Building upon the insights of contemporary researchers such as Byung-chul Han, Frank Furedi, and Emanuele Severino, Crifò will confront the cultivation of hollow wisdom and values that is moulding empty personalities and minds. Can we dare to envision a world different from our current reality, and aspire to be different individuals amidst the challenges of the present? Through a dynamic blend of arguments, humour, provocative statements, philosophical musings, and literary excerpts, spectators will embark on a journey to the depths of their own Inferno, ultimately rediscovering their lost souls.
Elio Crifò, an actor and writer renowned for his ability to address profound themes with an engaging and light-hearted touch, brings to the stage a performance characterised by its powerful emotional and cultural impact. Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of sources, including art, alchemy, archaeology, jazz, philosophy, and literature, Crifò’s shows offer a captivating exploration of the human experience.
