Event: Remembering the legacy
of Ronald Sultana
Date: Tuesday 21 May 2024
Time: 15:00 - 17:30 (Malta time)
Venue: Online (Further information below)
This event is a reflection on the legacy of Prof. Ronald Sultana, who passed away in November 2023.
His invaluable contributions to career guidance theory, policy and practice in the 20th and early 21st century will be explored, as will his interest in practice around the Mediterranean, across Europe and in the Global South, beyond its traditional home in the Global, and often Anglo-American, North.
Prof. Sultana consistently argued for the importance of embedding career guidance in local understandings and ways of being, for career guidance as a force for social justice and for the importance of understanding career guidance as something that was inherently political and bound up in political issues and political systems.
All participants should reflect on these three questions ahead of the meeting:
What aspects of Ronald鈥檚 work have you found most useful, powerful or influential? How have you put his ideas to work in your own research or practice? What unanswered questions remain? Where do we need to take Ronald鈥檚 ideas next?
This event is free of charge and open to all.
