The Department of Cognitive Science at the University of Malta organises the 鈥檙-atics 8 workshop in Valletta (Malta) on May 22-23 2025.
鈥榬-atics gathers an international network of researchers working on different issues concerning r sounds and has been previously organised in Nijmegen (The Netherlands), Brussels (Belgium), Bozen (Italy), Grenoble (France), Leeuwarden (The Netherlands), Paris (France), and Lausanne (Switzerland).
This is an international mid-size specific conference that enhances mutual cooperation in a friendly environment on phonetic, phonological, sociolinguistic and diachronic aspects of rhotics.
'r-atics is a workshop intrigued by the variation of rhotics sounds over and within the world's languages. The program of the 8th 鈥榬-atics workshop can be found online.
Please note that the registrations are currently closed, however, those who would like to attend can still pay the fee on the day, however, this will not include the lunch.
