The International Association for Counselling (IAC), in collaboration with the University of Malta and the Malta Association for the Counselling Profession (MACP), will host its annual conference from 11 to 13 July 2025 at the Radisson Blu in St Julian's, Malta.
With the theme "Counselling in a World of New Challenges: Cultivating Mental Health and Wellbeing," the conference will explore pressing global mental health issues and feature esteemed speakers.
Dr Devorah Kestel, WHO Director of Mental Health, will deliver a keynote on global mental health strategies. Dr John Prysor-Jones, a seasoned counsellor and psychotherapist, will present "HOPE SPRINGS INTERNAL! Experiencing Hope and Wellbeing in a Troubled World." Dr Roberta Attard, Head of the Department of Counselling at the University of Malta, will address the challenges of counselling youth in the digital era in her keynote, "The Digital Dilemma: Counselling Children in a Wired World."
The main stage will also feature Dr M. Elsa Soto Leggett, President-elect of the American Counseling Association, George Maringapasi, President of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and Dr Kim Hollihan, CEO of CCPA. In addition, there will be main stage presentations from the leaders of the African and Latin American counselling associations, as well as from the heads of the New Zealand and Irish associations, alongside other high-profile speakers.
The program includes roundtable discussions, interactive workshops, research presentations, and poster sessions, providing valuable opportunities for professional development and networking. Online participation is available for those unable to attend in person.
Presentation proposals are currently being accepted until 15 April 2025, with notifications sent within five weeks of submission. Register early鈥攄iscounted rates are available until 25 April 2025.
