Two Biology lecturers, Ms Leanne Bonnici and Dr Edward Mifsud, took part in a job shadowing Erasmus+ programme in Italy from 22 – 24 January 2025.
Hosted by Liceo Scientifico e Linguistico “Giordano Bruno” in Turin, Italy, the meeting focused on STEM subjects, and involved a 3 day programme for participant educators from Malta, Netherlands and Norway.
The participants had the opportunity to observe classes and practical sessions in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Robotics, as well as share learning experiences and good practices with fellow colleagues. The Maltese participants particularly enjoyed the Robotics session, during which they had the opportunity to program mini-robots, reporting that this was an overall positive and enriching experience on both professional and personal levels.
Furthermore, the visit also included a planetarium experience at the school and a tour of the “Infinito Planetario di Torino”, both experiences being instructive and entertaining at the same time.
This experience is co-funded through the Erasmus+ Accreditation programme, and coordinated by the JC International Office.
