The Department of Youth and Community Studies shall be offering the Master of Arts in Youth Justice for the fourth consecutive academic year in 2019/20. The course will commence in October 2019.
The taught component of the course (30 ECTS) will take you through an in-depth focus on the aetiology of youth crime from a bio-psycho-social approach, a comparative appraisal of youth justice systems and youth crime prevention methods with a focus on youth work as a crime prevention strategy. In preparation for your dissertation (60 ECTS), the programme of studies also entails the requisite focus on research methods. The dissertation will provide you with the opportunity to identify and explore research gaps in the area with the scope of informing service, policy and theoretical development.
