Dr Nathaniel Massa from the Department of Management, FEMA was invited to deliver an applied session on ‘Effective Business Writing, Reporting and Communication’ at the Malta Stock Exchange. Participants at this executive training programme included managers and administrators from various industries and sectors.
The applied session emphasised that within dynamic realities and information overload – whether at executive, middle management or even junior administrator level, conveying information, a message or even intent clearly, flawlessly and in appropriate detail is critical for getting the message across, establishing attention, winning business and building continued success. The intent is to form a sound basis upon which sound decisions may be taken. The programme highlighted that besides communicating information accurately in an appropriate format, effective business writing demonstrates rationale, enhances credibility, carries influential impact, and conveys suitable courtesy. All powerful determinants for maintaining interest, rapport and enabling sustainable achievement in the world of business.
The training was aligned with providing managers and practitioners with insights into sharpening and enhancing their business writing and communication skills in multiple and varied business contexts. This included writing with impact and garnering results, drawing up reports for outcome reporting and strategic decision-making, crafting business proposals, minute taking as well as delivering and presenting to an audience.
Dr Massa commends initiatives undertaken by the Malta Stock Exchange to promote financial and investment education and awareness, as well as bringing to the fore various important issues, for professionals as well as society at large.
