The hosted the third edition of the , a Debate society league whereby students enrolled within the Faculty chose four provocative topics to debate over:
● Partisanship in politics: Doom or Bloom?
● Masculinity without toxicity: Does it exist?
● AI: The unpredictable future
● Big brother is watching: Protection or infringement of privacy?
12 students from different courses and at different levels of study formed four groups. The event was anchored by one of Malta's entrepreneurs and favourite radio hosts, Martina Zammit.
The debates were judged by over 50 judges involving student representatives, administrative staff and research support officers, academics and stakeholders in the social sector. Students were judged on their understanding of the theme in discussion, logical argumentation, public speaking skills and respect towards each other; with the scope of providing the opportunity for students and youth to learn the art of debating in a safe space.
The winners of the Dean’s Forum 2020 were: Ms Mary Jones, PhD candidate; Mr Massimo Borg, reading a Master Degree in Counselling; and Mr Vince Mallia, reading a Bachelor Degree in Psychology.
