, Head of the within the Faculty of Theology, is the new Secretary of the Catechesis Section within the Commission for Evangelisation and Culture of the Council for the European Bishops’ Conferences (CCEE) for 2020-2022.
In his new role, Dr Sultana will be collaborating with the president of the section, Croatian bishop Đuro Hranić, on a number of projects.
Together, they will observe and assess the development in catechesis methods and structures around Europe, inform the General Secretary of the CCEE of their findings and proposals, and convene biennial meetings for the National Directors of Catechesis from different European countries.
On a related note, Rev. Dr Sultana has recently presented a paper on Education for the Faith in Malta: A Parish and School Enterprise at a conference held in Berlin, Germany, between 26 and 29 February 2020.
The academic gathering was organised by the European Child Theology Network, a network of scholars hailing from different Christian denominations that evaluates best practices related to child theology and education for the faith. The conference in Berlin focused on the role of schools and parishes within this educational dynamic.
