Resident academic from the Department of Physiology and Biochemistry was recently invited to grade neuroscience abstracts in the Translational Basic Science category for the 2021 to be held between February 10-12 in Denver, Colorado, USA.
This has been his fifth consecutive year where he served as an academic and research referee of the International Stroke Conference within the American Stroke Association.
The International Stroke Conference is the world’s premier meeting dedicated to the science and treatment of cerebrovascular disease and is the cradle of the best minds in the field to disseminate the very latest trial results to the exceptional education and science in the stroke medical profession. The incentive to learn more on the latest stroke science and brain health information to colleagues around the world has never been greater.
This 2½-day conference features more than 1,700 compelling presentations in 21 categories that emphasise basic, clinical and translational sciences as they evolve toward a better understanding of stroke pathophysiology with the goal of developing more effective therapies.
Clinical Sessions focus on community risk factors; emergency care; acute neuroimaging; acute endovascular and acute nonendovascular treatment; diagnosis of stroke etiology; cerebral large artery disease; in-hospital treatment; clinical rehabilitation and recovery; and health services, quality improvement, and patient-centered outcomes.
Basic Science Sessions focus on vascular biology in health and disease; basic and preclinical neuroscience of stroke recovery; and experimental mechanisms and models. Further specialized topics include pediatric stroke; intracerebral hemorrhage; nursing; preventive strategies; vascular cognitive impairment; aneurysms; subarachnoid hemorrhage; neurocritical care; vascular malformations; and ongoing clinical trials.
