was invited to present the biomolecular tools used in her doctoral research about mitochondrial disorders at between 17 and 20 November in the session about ‘Biobanking of rare diseases – new ideas to support research and healthcare’.
Ms Vella used the Genome Phenome Analysis Platform to analyse exome data and Dr Tom and Galaxy for RNA-sequencing analysis. Ms Vella is a student at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery’s Department of Physiology and Biochemistry.
Ms Vella was also invited to chair the session ‘Pitch your innovative ideas – make it happen’ on behalf of (Biobanking and BioMolecular resources Research Infrastructure, European Research Infrastructure Consortium) where Joanna is currently seconded as Quality Management Officer setting up a quality management system for .
The theme for this year’s virtual edition of the annual conference is "Biobanking for Global Challenges". Europe Biobank Week is a joint effort of BBMRI-ERIC and (European, Middle Eastern & African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking).
