Mr Paul Xuereb and Mr Roderick Vassallo have been re-appointed as Principal and Vice-Principal of the
The election was held on 26 May 2021. Both candidates presented their vision to the JC Board and they were unanimously re-appointed by the Board and the UM Council for a period of four years with effect from 1 October 2021.
Mr Paul Xuereb will be resuming his role of the day-to-day administration of the College, whilst Mr Roderick Vassallo will be resuming the role of assisting him, with both being an integral part of the Junior College Office of the Principal.
Mr Paul Xuereb graduated from the University of Malta with a B.Ed. (Hons) degree, and subsequently a M.Ed. and M.B.A. (Exec.). He has taught science subjects at all levels of the educational system and has been involved in the training of undergraduate B.Ed. (Hons) students. In 1995, he joined JC as a lecturer in Physics, after which in 2003 he was appointed Subject Coordinator for Physics, Vice-Principal in 2009 and has been Principal of JC since 2013.
Other than serving as Vice-Principal, Mr Roderick Vassallo is also a Senior Lecturer in Biology at JC, and has coordinated the Biology and Home Economics Departments for 6 years. He represents JC on the ACCESS Disability Support Committee at UM, is the Co-Chair of The Gender and Sexual Diversity Committee and also sits on the Committee for Race and Ethnic Affairs.
