The University of Malta was represented by Professor Joseph Borg from the Department of Applied Biomedical Science, Faculty of Health Sciences, at the on “The Next Generation in Infection Biology” held virtually on 26-27 January.
The event brought together many post-doctoral scientists from EMBL and other member states to discuss latest advances and developments in the field of Infectious disease biology.
The Conference served as a platform for late-stage postdoctoral scientists in the field to present their work and connect with the leading European institutions. The speakers were chosen for their track record of research accomplishments and their high-reaching future plans.
Cutting-edge science was also presented by the rising leaders in this field. Professor Borg formed part of a panel on how “To prepare for an academic interview” with other panel speakers Daniel Lopez, Tâm Mignot, and Suzan Rooijakkers who are all past or present ERC grant holders.
The session was moderated by EMBL staff and offered institutional partners a platform for further discussion and networking opportunities to connect and shape the future league of infection biologists in Europe.
