The WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Professionals Education and Research, Department of Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery proudly contributes to the needs of the World Health Organisation. The Department of Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics had been designated WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Professionals Education and Research in April 2018.
The Centre regularly supports WHO in giving a voice to students and young health care professionals since they are the ones who are shaping the future of health care.
One episode of the dynamic talk show series ‘Let’s Talk Primary Health Care’, targeted at policy makers, influencers, implementers and health managers primarily in the WHO European Region, was dedicated to engaging with young health care professionals from different countries.
The Centre nominated Ms Katya Sacco to participate in the show and she was then selected to voice her opinion as a young pharmacist from Malta. Ms Sacco spoke of her experiences as a community pharmacist, the challenges faced and how these can be overcome.
