On 10 March 2022, Prof. Philip von Brockdorff, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Marketing and Accounting (FEMA), chaired a Public Hearing organised by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) on 'The New EU Own Resources', which took place in Brussels.
This Public Hearing centred around discussions regarding the New Own Resources Package as an engine for financing growth and recovery of the European economy. This hearing also included the participation of Members of the European Parliament, the European Commission and representatives of the civil society.
Prof. von Brockdorff chaired the Public Hearing in his capacity as a member of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and as a rapporteur of the EESC鈥檚 Draft Opinion on the European Commission鈥檚 Proposal for an Own Resources Decision. Dr Charmaine Portelli, from the Department of Economics, also attended the Public Hearing as expert to the Rapporteur.
