Between 10 and 15 September 2022, Rev. Dr Nicholas Doublet from the Department of Church History, Patrology and Palaeochristian Archaeology visited the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Split as part of the European University of the Seas (SEA-EU) project. The study tour included visits to various Paleo-Christian and medieval sites in Dalmatia related to Maritime Spirituality: Visovac, Mljet, Trogir and Salona.
This followed a previous visit held in July 2022, during which time Dr Doublet and Rev. Dr Stefan Attard, the Dean of the Faculty of Theology, hosted members from the Croatian university for a study tour in Malta visiting local sites related to Maritime Spirituality, namely Tas-Silg Archeological Complex, the Sanctuary of Our Lady in Mellieha, the Cathedral Museum and Archives in Mdina, the Wignacourt Museum in Rabat, and the parish churches of Senglea and Zabbar.
aims to establish a distinctly international, pluri-ethnic, multilingual and interdisciplinary European University, particularly by strengthening the links between teaching, research, innovation and knowledge transfer.
