and , respectively Senior Lecturer and RSO2/MPhil Candidate within the , , recently participated as presenters in the international SDEWES conference held in Paphos, Cyprus between the 6th and 10th November 2022.
The 17th Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems (SDEWES) was dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge on methods, policies and technologies for increasing the sustainability of development by de-coupling growth from the use of natural resources and by a transition to a knowledge-based economy. The conference was well attended with 349 on-site and 147 on-line participants from 52 countries.
A total of 500 papers were presented covering various aspects of sustainable development ranging from energy, water and environmental systems.
Perit Luca Caruso specifically presented the preliminary results related to the Double C Block project, an ongoing MCST funded project (R&I 2019 010T). Dr. Ing. Borg presented work related to two distinct studies. One looked at the formulation of the Building Condition Assessment as a tool to guarantee building performance for local construction, whilst the other was a high level feasibility study of combined heat and power in the tourism industry in Malta.
The presenters would like to take the opportunity to thank the other co-authors of these studies, namely for the Double C Block paper, Kurt Sapiano, and Fabian Borg for the Building Condition Assessment paper, and Ing. Bernice Magro for the feasibility study of combined heat and power in the tourism industry in Malta.
