The Centre for Environmental Education and Research (CEER) and the Platform for Migration at the University of Malta featured prominently at an international conference on Science and Education for Sustainable Development organised by the University of Gdansk, Poland. Prof. Mark C. Mifsud, Director of CEER delivered the keynote opening lecture on ‘Our Vision for Sustainability’, while Dr Censu Caruana also from CEER presented his research on ‘Out of the Crisis through a Mindset Shift’.
Prof. Rose Marie Azzopardi, Coordinator of the Platform for Migration, addressed the conference on the theme of ‘Transversal Skills for Flexibility and Sustainability’, and Dr Omar Grech, a member of the Platform’s Board, delivered a presentation on ‘Human Rights Education and Development’. The four Maltese Academics also had a productive meeting with the Vice Rector, Directors and other academics from the University of Gdansk, Oslo Metropolitan University, and Comenius University in Bratislava for future collaboration possibilities.
