, resident senior faculty at the , together with his international research colleagues co authored a paper presented at the 4th Nordic International Business, Export Marketing and Tourism Conference.
The paper, entitled ‘Navigating and selecting voluntary sustainability standards to compete internationally in food exports’ was presented by Dr Valeska Geldres-Weiss. Accompanied at the conference by Dr Massa, Valeska who is from the Universidad de La Frontera (Chile) is currently also on sabbatical engaged on diverse research fronts with the University of Malta.
The paper, also co-authored with Dr Carolina Nicholas from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, and Mr Julian Dingli from the University of Malta, provides SME food exporters seeking to develop new international markets, insights on navigating and selecting appropriate market-specific voluntary sustainability standards from among the myriad competing standards in existence.
The research draws from long-ongoing research collaboration between Dr Geldres Weiss and Dr Massa, who together with other international scholars recently also published journal papers in areas related to sustainable business models, as well as export promotion agencies and exporting SMEs in COVID-19 times.
