Dr Gulnoza Odilova, Head of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice at Kimyo International University of Tashkent and lecturer at the National University of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, visited the Department of Translation, Terminology and Interpreting Studies of the Faculty of Arts on an Erasmus+ ICM training mobility.
She gave lectures on Uzbek literature and culture, on Russian influence on the Uzbek language, and on the translation of poetic language from Uzbek to English. Moreover, she had a series of meetings with academic and administrative staff in connection with the current Erasmus+ agreement between the UM and the National University of Tashkent.
Discussions about the joint research project currently being carried out by both departments were held. In fact, during her visit, a literary translation project was set up between the two departments.
