The University of Malta received Prof. Abednego F. Okoe Amartey, Vice Chancellor of the for an official visit this week. Prof. Amartey was accompanied by Dr Koryoe Anim-Wright, Registrar of the same University.
The University of Professional Studies of Accra is a public University in Accra, Ghana and recently approached the University of Malta to carry out this visit with the scope of exploring the potential for collaboration.
Following an introduction to the University by , Pro Rector for International Development and Quality Assurance and , Deputy Director, , the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar attended meetings with , Dean, , Deputy Dean, and , Head of the with the same faculty. The focus of the discussion was the possibility of joint supervision, external examiners and collaboration at the doctoral level.
These meetings were followed by a meeting with which was also attended by the Academic Registrar of the University of Malta, along with the Pro Rector and the Deputy Director International office. These discussions provided valuable insights on the challenges and opportunities that exist in Ghana and Malta and the possibilities for joint collaboration.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two Universities and a discussion took place on the possibility of engaging with UPSA for the next call for the International Credit Mobility with a view towards organising exchanges for students and staff.
The University of Malta expressed its appreciation to the High Commission of Malta in Ghana for the support provided in engaging with UPSA and facilitating the visit.
