The Argotti Botanic Gardens & Resource Centre have been dedicating their efforts to understanding and propagating a number of indigenous Maltese plants. About 50 rare species are being propagated and these include, but are not limited to, Polygonum equisetiforme, Pancratium foetidum, Sarcopoterium spinosum, Euphorbia paralais, Cyperus distachyos and Mentha aquatica.
Index Seminum exchange between ABGRC and other international botanic gardens from France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania has led to the acquirement of about 80 species that will be tested for acclimatisation at our botanical garden.
