A delegation from 脫buda University recently visited the University of Malta to discuss possible research collaborations and student exchanges between the two institutions. 脫buda University, named after 脫buda, a part of Budapest, is the top practice-oriented technical university in Hungary. With more than 12,000 students it is one of the largest technical universities in Hungary.
Peter Karasz (Academic Affairs), Adrienn Dineva (Faculty of Informatics), and Viktoria Tafferner-Gulyas (International Relations Office) were joined by academic members at the Centre of Molecular Medicine and Biobanking (Dr Melissa Formosa and Dr Jean-Paul Ebejer) and the Department of Computer 福利在线免费 Systems (Mr Joseph Bonello) to explore opportunities in bioinformatics research and academic programmes. The possibility of student exchanges and industrial placements was also put forward. The ERA Chair in Bioinformatics, Panagiotis Alexiou, also attended the meeting (on behalf of the BioGeMT project).
