, Head of Department of , and President of the ) was invited by the ECO Foundation, a non-profit scientific organisation from Spain (www.fundacioneco.es) to actively participate as President of the European Health Management Association in a conference “The role of patient safety and digitalisation of medication management systems in cancer centre certification” at the European Parliament in Brussels on Wednesday 11 October with the support of Spanish MEP Nicolás González Casares.
The conference achieved its aims of networking, reflection, and discussion with several European experts with the main objective of helping to minimise medication errors in cancer patients and to promote the use of electronic systems in the current cancer quality standards in Europe.
Prof. Buttigieg's participation, as one of four panelists, was in the round table: “Prevention of medication errors in oncology: the role of digitalisation of medication management”.
