Members from the nine universities forming part of the SEA-EU Alliance met in Bod酶, Norway, between the 23 and 26 October 2023, for a communications meeting, and to discuss ways forward on how to enhance the visibility of their presence especially online.
These included four members of the Marketing, Communications and Alumni Office within the University of Malta, who were invited to showcase the services offered by MCAO and even proposed a fresh design for the current SEA-EU website.
The meeting was held at Nord University and served as an excellent networking opportunity as well as a forum of exchange of ideas. Nord University Pro-Rector for Education welcomed the delegations from the nine universities, after which each delegation brought their own ideas to the table.
Mr Jan Cauchi, Mr Matthew Cilia, Mr Gabriel Izzo and Ms Nicole Pace from MCAO delivered a short presentation showcasing the UM website, Newspoint and the Newspoint Update.
Ms Stefania Zdral, SEA-EU Project Officer and Ms Maria Grima Calleja, SEA-EU Office Manager were also present for this occasion.
The current SEA-EU Communications Report was also discussed between the attendants, and improvements to it were noted and recommendations made.
Although the focus of the trip was to convey ideas about communications, a number of fun networking opportunities arose, with a day-trip to Saltstraumen where the Maltese delegation were able to witness the world's largest sea currents, as well as a number of dinners together with colleagues from the other universities.
