Dr Maria D'Ambrosio, researcher and senior lecturer at the Università Suor Orsola Benincasa(SOB) in Naples, was invited by to participate in an Erasmus training initiative aimed at fostering academic exchange.
During her visit, Maria D'Ambrosio, who is also the founder and director the Embodied Education research group at the Università SOB, shared her extensive knowledge in the field conducting a four-hour class for MTL Drama and MTL Primary Education students.
Her session focused on embodied methodology and arts-based research, through a practical introduction to the concept of “ways into” relationships and the importance of the aesthetics of education. The exploration of the body and space as powerful tools for communication and establishing connections was a pivotal component of this educational experience. Students were introduced to the phenomenological framework and the realm of 'sensitive pedagogy' .
This is the second collaboration between the two lecturers; in 2020 Dr Gatt delivered a 4-ECTS online module in Process Drama for Learning to Dr D’Ambrosio’s students in Naples.
The Faculty looks forward to continued collaboration and the strengthening of academic ties with the Università Suor Orsola Benincasa. This exchange of knowledge and expertise promises continued growth and advancement within the field of innovative pedagogies in teacher training.
