Staff from the International Offices and Research Offices of the Alliance of the SEA-EU Universities had a chance to meet during the SEA-EU Staff Week. Nord University (Bodø, Norway) invited them to take part in Internationalisation Week which was held between Monday 23 October and Friday 27 October 2023. The guiding theme of the event was “Internationalisation - from Mobility to International Exposure”. The program was packed with useful and engaging information about Internationalisation in Research, Staff Mobility, Student Mobility, PhD Mobility, and Internationalisation at Home.
The panels largely focused on discussions of how Internationalisation processes support diversity and enrich academic experiences. The topics covered include the definition of Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs), the impact of Internationalisation on Research, and many more.
Internationalisation is a particularly important and interesting area for Universities because it attracts top talent, both students and academics, and expands research opportunities by collaborating with institutions worldwide. Furthermore, it bolsters the University's reputation on the global stage and can lead to increased funding and partnerships.
During the closing of the event, the importance of internationalisation in higher education institutions was highlighted and the alliance will be rolling out a few initiatives to enhance intercultural understanding and mobility opportunities for all.
