Speaking to Newspoint, Prof. Mifsud said around 5,000 people in Malta live with the condition, and this alone justifies the advocacy for individuals with epilepsy to be appointed on medical decision-making boards, allowing for their specific challenges to be heard, recommended and implemented on a wider basis.
