Prof. Angela Abela, Professor at the University鈥檚 Department of Child and Family Studies, and Prof. Sue Vella, Associate Professor at the Department of Social Policy & Social Work, has the opportunity to present their work on blended families in Malta at the International Family Therapy Association (IFTA) Conference, held in Toyama, Japan, between 8 and 13 April 2024.
Blended families are a couple family with two or more children, of whom at least one is the natural or adopted child of both members of the couple, and at least one is the stepchild of either partner in the couple. This can give children more people to connect with, and parents an additional source of support.
