A number of UM academics have been invited to share their expertise by delivering a talk at Malta’s first-ever locally-organised conference on dementia.
Titled ‘Dementia in Malta: Current and Future Perspectives’, the Conference is being organised with the help of the Dementia Care Directorate, and the Faculty for Social Wellbeing’s&²Ô²ú²õ±è;Department of Gerontology & Dementia Studies, as well as the
Faculty of Health Sciences’&²Ô²ú²õ±è;Department of Nursing.
It will feature:
- Prof. Charles Scerri, Chairperson of the Malta Dementia Society and Professor of Dementia Studies at UM
- Dr Anthony Scerri, Senior Lecturer, Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences at UM
- Prof. Marvin Formosa, Professor of Gerontology at the University of Malta
- Dr Christian Borg Xuereb, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Gerontology and Dementia Studies at UM
The Conference, to be held on 6 September 2024, is part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Malta Dementia Society.
