Prof. Simone Borg, Professor at the Department of Environmental & Resources Law within the University of Malta’s Faculty of Laws, and who is the current Chair of Climate Platform, participated at the (IMLI)’s latest workshop on Climate Change and Ocean Governance.
It took place on Friday 10 May 2024 at the International Maritime Law Institute at UM’s Msida Campus.
Her presentation was titled ‘The International Regulatory Framework on Climate Change’, and it gave insight on whether the framework is ocean-friendly, or not.
The main international treaty on fighting climate change is the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
In 2017, Prof. Borg received the French National Order of Merit. She also chaired the post-COVID steering group, set up by Minister Owen Bonnici to help the country to emerge stronger than before by being innovative.
