Malta’s very own scientific journal, Xjenza Online has released a special issue dedicated to the top researchers in Malta, edited by Prof. Giuseppe Di Giovanni. This edition features a new collection showcasing researchers from Malta who were recognised among the top 2% of the most cited authors globally in 2021, as identified by world-renowned scientific institutions and publishers: Stanford University and Elsevier.
The collection features 11 invited articles on diverse topics, such as the impact of COVID-19 on noncommunicable diseases, clinical vaccine research in children, advancements in electrical power systems, and the importance of inclusive education. Other notable contributions include studies on fibromyalgia treatment, SAR image processing, AI and digital games, sepsis treatment, bee population conservation, and breakthroughs in click chemistry. Researchers range from distinguished scholars to young scientists. This edition also honours the career of Prof. Alex Felice, highlighting his contributions to human haemoglobinopathy (a protein found in blood) research.
is the science journal of the Malta Chamber of Scientists and is published in an electronic format. Xjenza Online is a peer-reviewed, free, open-access international journal. The journal encompasses research articles, original research reports, reviews, short communications and scientific commentaries in all fields of science. The first printed issue of the journal was published in 1996.
