The Institute of Earth Systems announces the launch of its new Pre-Tertiary Certificate in Agriculture, with a start date of October 2024.
The Pre-Tertiary Certificate in Agriculture is a two-semester part-time day course focusing on agricultural biology and chemistry. Students will be introduced to the rural sciences and will learn about the basic scientific concepts and practice of farming and cultivation.
Topics covered range from principles of agricultural chemistry, agricultural systematics and agricultural biotechnology, to agricultural biochemistry, and anatomy and physiology of crops and farm animals.
This course is aimed at applicants with an interest in the field of agriculture and the rural sciences, and is particularly suited to post-secondary students wishing to continue their studies. The course programme provides the necessary foundational knowledge for students to subsequently follow the Diploma in Agriculture also offered by the Institute of Earth Systems.
Special entry requirements for this course include a pass at SEC level in any one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Studies, Agribusiness, Geography, Physics, Economics, Business Studies and 福利在线免费 Technology. Applicants in possession of other qualifications or experience in an area of study related to agriculture are also encouraged to apply for this course, and may be admitted subject to the results of an interview.
