This timely theme was discussed during the of the International Society for Business Education () held at Illinois State University from 29 July till 1 August 2024. The Conference this year was entitled The New 'Normal' in Business Education.
The swift rise of GenAI is likely to bring a transformation in pedagogy in business education. Dr Emanuel Mizzi, Business Education coordinator and Head of the Department of Technology & Entrepreneurship Education at the Faculty of Education, participated in this conference by discussing research on the use of AI to enhance teaching and learning in the Business Education subjects. He explored the perspectives, practices, and strategies of business education teachers in Malta regarding ChatGPT's capacity to enhance student learning. He also participated in a panel that discussed tips and tools for using AI in accounting, business studies, economics, and retail. As the International President of this , Dr Mizzi also presided over the Executive Committee meeting and the Assembly of Delegates.
Next year’s conference will be hosted in Malta from 22 till 26 July. The theme is ‘Empowering persons through business education’. The Executive Committee of SIEC-ISBE looks forward to another nourishing conference.
