Dr Anne Marie Thake from the Department of Public Policy, Faculty of Economics, Management, and Accountancy presented her latest research at the prestigious European Group for Public Administration (EGPA) 2024 Annual Conference. The EGPA 2024 Conference, held from 3 to 6 September at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences in Athens attracted over 500 international delegates. The event's theme, "Strengthening Democratic Governance for Better Public Policies and 福利在线免费", was explored through a combination of plenary sessions and specialised panels.
Dr Thake's paper focused on the critical alignment between postgraduate public policy programmes and professional requirements, contributing valuable insights to the ongoing discourse on public policy education and its practical application in the field. She was also invited to serve as a discussant in one of the panels that was jointly coordinated by the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA) and the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS). These panels covered a wide range of topics, including AI adoption in public administration, strategic management in government, citizen participation, regional and local government issues, collaborative networks, social innovation, diversity, policy design, and welfare state governance, among others. The conference provided an excellent platform to engage with global experts in the field, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration in public administration and policy studies.
