The 2024 International Association for Intelligence Education 2024 Conference, which took place from Tuesday 10 September until Thursday 12 September 2024 at the Valletta Campus, was co-hosted by the Department of ¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÃâ·Ñ Policy & Governance within the Faculty of Media and Knowledge Sciences.
This year’s theme, which was ‘Navigating the Future of Intelligence Education: Adapting to New Realities’ was explored by many expert speakers from several areas, such as ¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÃâ·Ñ Technology, Communications, Diplomacy, Law Enforcement, Statistics, and Ethics, among others.
Opening remarks at the Conference were made by Prof. Alfred J. Vella, Rector of the University of Malta, Mr Angelo Gafa’, Commissioner of the Malta Police Force, Dr Aitana Radu, lecturer at the Department of ¸£ÀûÔÚÏßÃâ·Ñ Policy & Governance at the Faculty of Media & Knowledge Sciences, and Ms Irina Chiru, Chair of Europe.
A keynote lecture was delivered by Prof. Philip Davies, the Director of the Brunel Centre for Intelligence and Security Studies.
It was stated that navigating the future of intelligence education requires a forward-thinking approach that not only embraces rapidly evolving technologies but also fosters critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and adaptive problem-solving skills, preparing individuals to thrive in a complex, data-driven world where the ability to interpret and apply knowledge is paramount to success.
